Tragic Accident Claims Cyclist’s Life off the Main Road

A bicyclist tragically lost their life in a motor vehicle accident off the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday.

The motorist allegedly struck the cyclist near Harmon Avenue and La Mar Circle in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the driver then fled the scene east of the Strip.

The cyclist sustained severe head injuries and was taken to University Medical Center. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

Law enforcement was notified about the incident around 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Following the use of advanced technology to track the vehicle, the unnamed driver was apprehended by officers and found in a parking lot, as reported by Las Vegas TV station KVVU.

The driver was traveling eastbound at the time of the collision, as per KVVU’s report.

This fatal accident caused traffic delays on Harmon Avenue.

The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and it is likely that the cyclist will undergo an autopsy.

Pedestrian Robbed Outside of Casino

An individual was robbed near Maryland’s MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino on Thursday.

The thief brandished a rifle and took the victim’s belongings. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the robbery.

According to the Shore News Network, a Maryland news outlet, the Prince George’s County Police Department was notified and commenced a search for the suspect or suspects over the weekend.

It is expected that law enforcement will review footage from the casino’s surveillance cameras to aid in identifying the perpetrator.

No details were provided regarding the items stolen or whether any cash was taken from the victim.

40 Gaming Machines Seized in Kentucky

A raid on four businesses in Monticello, Ky., resulted in the confiscation of approximately 40 gaming machines last week. Two individuals were arrested as a result.

The searches were executed last Wednesday following the issuance of search warrants for the respective locations.

The two arrested suspects, identified as Jaimin Patel and Obdula Reddy, both 25 years old, were charged with various offenses including promoting gambling and possession of gambling devices.

Monticello Police Department detained the suspects, and additional arrests are expected, as disclosed by law enforcement.

Local prosecutors have taken over the cases, but neither suspect has entered a plea on the charges at this time.
