The protracted legal battle among investors in Noble 33, the hospitality company that operates Toca Madera at the Shops at Crystals, has taken a more contentious—and curiously humorous—turn with a recent filing in the Los Angeles County Superior Court dated January 30.

The new legal document, shared by the social media outlet Las Vegas Locally, claims that Berman and Tanha diverted company funds for a variety of personal expenses — from luxury sports cars and airline tickets for OnlyFans influencers to attend restaurant openings, to even “multiple engagement rings.”

Indeed, the lawsuit specifies “multiple,” suggesting there are contingency plans for future fiancées.

These recent allegations add to a string of lawsuits from investors that began in 2021, all charging the founders with fund misappropriation, restricting access to financial records, and personal use of corporate funds. Berman and Tanha have rejected these claims, asserting that the litigation is merely a strategy for investors seeking control.

All ongoing cases are civil, not criminal, and the Noble 33 restaurants continue to function as usual, so don’t alter your dinner plans for a proposal. Multiple proposals, if that’s your style.

Five Guys, No Clowns

Five Guys, the giant fast-food chain from Virginia boasting 1,900 outlets, including six in Las Vegas, plans to open this summer in a 2,200 square-foot space at the Plaza. This location was previously home to McDonald’s, which ceased operations in August 2024 after the casino hotel purchased its long-term lease because, let’s be honest, McDonald’s is underwhelming.

Before the restaurant opens, a Five Guys hot dog cart will make its debut this spring at the Plaza’s Carousel Bar.

Did we just emphasize “McDonald’s“? (Did we really just do that again?)

Dining Updates

Alex Reznik, a chef with extensive experience in Las Vegas, LA, and NYC and a competitor on “Beat Bobby Flay” as well as a contestant on “Top Chef”, is set to open Hayworth in Henderson on February 26. This latest venture from Ogden Hospitality Group will showcase Reznik’s Jewish and Eastern European heritage with dishes like apple-honey-glazed sablefish and 24-hour wagyu brisket.

The long-standing Pho So 1 in Chinatown shut its doors in November, but a new pho restaurant is poised to take its place soon at 4745 W. Spring Mountain Road, confirmed by signage and Clark County licensing records.
