While it may not be the most credible source—especially when relying on unnamed informants—we find a degree of validity in The Sun’s assertion that Oasis declined a lucrative offer for a Las Vegas Sphere residency.

It’s understandable why Sphere CEO James Dolan is eager to recruit Noel and Liam Gallagher after their “Live ’25” reunion tour achieved sold-out shows across 41 venues on five continents this year.

However, British tabloid reports suggest that Noel was discouraged from pursuing this opportunity by his friend, U2 frontman Bono, whose band inaugurated the impressive venue in September 2023.

“He’s not going to invest in a spectacle that would lead to financial losses for him and others,” cited The Sun from its anonymous insider.

While Bono may have cautioned Noel about the Sphere for economic reasons, the publication seems to have erred in stating that Bono complained about the high costs associated with producing a show there.

Reliable sources indicate that U2 did not bear the $10 million expense for crafting a visual experience for the world’s largest and highest-definition screen. Instead, it was Dolan who covered this entire expense in exchange for U2 performing as the first act in his experimental venue, even without founding drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who was recovering from surgery at the time.

Additionally, reports suggest that U2 retained a staggering 90% of the ticket revenue from their 40 performances.

Such preferential terms would likely not be available to future headliners while maintaining profitability for the Sphere, which likely explains why Beyonce walked away from her reported talks.

This scenario further clarifies why Zac Brown mentioned to Us Weekly that he is “going into debt” to actualize his current Sphere residency.

Oasis may have turned down a tempting offer, but it appears that an even larger budget was necessary. Currently, the Sphere is negotiating from a position of strength, especially as its “Wizard of Oz” reboot has already generated $200 million, with sales continuing to thrive.

Iconic rock artist David Byrne will bring his “Who Is The Sky” tour to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on April 20, 2026. This performance marks Byrne’s first return to Las Vegas since his show at the Smith Center in 2018 and supports his latest studio album bearing the same title.

Fans can anticipate a mix of classics from his earlier band, Talking Heads (“Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House,” and “Once in a Lifetime”), as well as solo tracks that will be part of a choreographed, artistic spectacle featuring a 12-member ensemble.

Bryan Adams is set to host three solo acoustic performances at the Encore Theatre located in Wynn Las Vegas. Accompanied by his long-time pianist and collaborator, Gary Breit, the “Run to You” artist will deliver gentle renditions of his rock classics on June 3, 5, and 6, 2026.

Tickets will be available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, December 12, with presales launching at 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, December 11.
