After facing a challenging year, Brian Setzer, the frontman of Stray Cats, announced “The Cats are Back” summer tour on Monday. The ambitious 16-date tour begins on July 24 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.

Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13, through Ticketmaster, with an artist presale kicking off at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10.

In February 2025, Setzer disclosed his diagnosis of an undisclosed autoimmune condition impacting his hands.

“I am unable to play guitar,” he shared on social media. “It doesn't hurt, but it feels as if I'm wearing gloves when I try to perform.”

Following about a year of therapy at the Mayo Clinic, Setzer and the band had plans for a 21-date comeback tour, which had to be canceled just before its start on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

However, a recent press release states that after an additional six months of intensive therapy, Setzer has made a strong recovery.

“I’m delighted to be back to health and vitality,” he remarked, though he chose not to elaborate on his condition or his recovery assurance.

On February 9, a Long Island guitar shop posted a video on Facebook featuring Setzer showcasing some Carl Perkins-inspired riffs. While he sounded impressive, his performance was brief, seated, and didn’t exhibit the rapid pace he was once famous for.
