Two Powerball tickets, each with a value of $50,000, are on the verge of expiration and will soon be useless.
The Hoosier Lottery in Indiana urges players to check their Powerball tickets as two significant winnings await collection.
A ticket sold for the Christmas Eve 2025 draw at Love’s Travel Stop in Terre Haute won $50,000 by matching four white balls and the red Powerball. The winning numbers for that draw were 4, 25, 31, 52, 59, with the Powerball being 19.
A week later, another $50,000 ticket was sold at Payless Liquors in Southport for the January 3 draw, which also matched four white balls and the Powerball. The winning numbers for that draw were 18, 21, 40, 53, 60, and the Powerball was 23.
According to Indiana’s lottery regulations, winners must claim their prizes within six months of the drawing date. Thus, the Terre Haute ticket will expire on Monday, June 22, while the Southport ticket deadline is Thursday, July 2.

Lottery agencies actively work to remind players of impending expirations on substantial winnings, often resulting in lost tickets being rediscovered and redeemed.
In April, the Texas Lottery informed the public about a $78 million Lotto Texas jackpot that had yet to be claimed. Just days before the expiration date, the ticket holder validated their win through a South Dakota-based trust.
In May, the New Jersey Lottery prompted players about a $5.9 million prize approaching expiration. The winner mentioned they searched their entire home for the ticket after learning of the impending expiration date on the multimillion-dollar jackpot.
With a $5.9 million prize at stake, the individual searched every nook and cranny before finally checking their closet and inspecting every pocket of their pants. After checking a few pairs, they found a crumpled Pick-6 ticket from the previous May,” noted a release from the New Jersey Lottery.
The Pick-6 ticket was cashed just eight days before its expiration date.
Unclaimed Lottery Prizes
The highest lottery prize ever left unclaimed in the U.S. occurred in 2011.
Despite warnings from the Georgia Lottery, a $77 million ticket sold at a Pilot Travel Center in Tallapoosa for the June 29, 2011 drawing expired without being redeemed.
Additionally, in 2002, a Mega Millions ticket from Kings Plaza Newsstand in Brooklyn won $68 million but was never cashed.
