The Powerball’s grand prize has not been claimed since September 6, when two tickets from Missouri and Texas shared a staggering $1.787 billion pot. The winning numbers for last night’s draw were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66, with the red Powerball at 17.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, just five days prior to Christmas. This will be the 45th drawing in the current jackpot cycle, boasting an enticing jackpot of $1.5 billion, and a cash equivalent of $686.5 million.

Should no ticket match the jackpot, the following drawing will take place on Monday, December 22. If the jackpot remains unclaimed, it will carry over to Christmas Eve, ensuring families gather around their screens at 10:59 PM ET, hoping for the ultimate holiday surprise.

This jackpot promises to be a life-changing sum. The prize increases with each $2 ticket sold, and a portion of the proceeds benefits local public services and programs. We urge everyone to play responsibly and enjoy the experience,” stated Matt Strawn, Chair of the Powerball Product Group and CEO of the Iowa Lottery.

The likelihood of winning the jackpot is approximately one in 292.2 million.

Winners from Wednesday

While no one took home the jackpot last night, a total of 3,305,638 tickets won various smaller prizes.

Eight tickets were just shy of hitting the jackpot, matching all five white balls but missing the Powerball. Six of these winners received $1 million each, while two doubled their winnings to $2 million through the optional $1 Power Play.

Though the Power Play multiplier was set to 4X, the match five prize was capped at a 2X bonus. The $2 million winning tickets were purchased in Arizona and Massachusetts, while the $1 million tickets were sold in Connecticut, New York (3), Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

A total of 72 tickets matched four out of five white balls and the Powerball, earning $50K each. Additionally, 14 of those four + Powerball tickets who opted for the Power Play multiplied their prizes to $200K each.

Most winnings, approximately 2.63 million tickets, resulted in $7 or less by matching the Powerball alone, in combination with one white ball, or with two or three white balls.

The Seventh-Largest Jackpot in U.S. History

With a value of $1.5 billion, Saturday’s Powerball jackpot stands as the fifth-largest in the history of Powerball and the seventh-largest in U.S. history.
