Las Vegas Sands’ majority shareholder, Dr. Miriam Adelson, is making headlines with her strong opinion on how supporters of Hamas should be treated. Her comments suggest that she views these individuals as enemies of the Jewish community.

Adelson shared her views in an op-ed published by Israel Hayom, a media publication she owns, expressing strong indignation towards foreign supporters of Hamas, stating that they are enemies of the Jewish state.

Her remarks include statements such as, “If you condemn Hamas and then add a ‘but’ followed by condemnation of Israel, you’re dead to us.”

In addition, Adelson continued to express that “We will not forgive our enemies in Gaza or anywhere else. Nor would you. And nor shall we forget the many who stand by us, understanding that our fight is their fight, too.”

Faithful Israel Supporter

As a committed supporter of the Israeli state, Dr. Miriam Adelson carries on her late husband Sheldon Adelson’s mission. Her inherited wealth, estimated at $32.5 billion by Forbes, is dedicated to causes seeking to improve US Jewish community relations with lawmakers in DC.

The Adelsons have heavily supported Republicans, contributing $524 million to GOP candidates and PACs since 2011. Their influence on Donald Trump resulted in the relocation of the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Sands, where Adelson holds a 57% share, operates integrated resort casinos in Macau and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, which is seen as a leading company in the IR industry.

The company previously built The Venetian Resort and Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as Sands Bethlehem in Pennsylvania. Following Adelson’s death, Sands sold these properties for a significant amount.

2024 GOP Candidate Awaits

Dr. Miriam Adelson has chosen to stay neutral in the Republican Party’s primary process and has pledged to respect the party’s choice for their presidential candidate.

Currently, analysts give a 75% chance of Trump securing the Republican ticket for the upcoming presidential election, based on predictions by political wagering exchange PredictIt.

Trump, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are the current frontrunners for the 2024 GOP candidacy, each representing the party at important events such as the Republican Jewish Coalition Annual Leadership Summit in Las Vegas.
