Being posted on December 19, 2023, 02:41h, a former employee has been taken into custody in connection with starting a fire at the Desert Rose Casino in Alturas, Calif. The fire caused significant damage to the casino’s offices and was successfully extinguished by several firefighters. The Modoc County Sheriff’s Office managed to arrest Calob Matthew Gersalia, 25, after an investigation. Although a suspect was shown in surveillance video, it is unclear if he is the arrested suspect. In another incident, nine suspects were detained after being accused of taking part in a prostitution and human trafficking operation in metropolitan Detroit and other locations. The investigation took over a year and included 42 court-approved searches. Additionally, a man was arrested in Evansville, Indiana after allegedly leaving a backpack containing illegal drugs unattended at Bally’s Evansville. Upon further investigation, about 30 grams of suspected meth and five empty baggies were found inside the bag. Anthony Barron was taken into custody and as of now, has not been given bail.
