It began shortly before 7:15 p.m. on Christmas Eve when visitors were invited. to leave the gaming property.
It wasn’t until 12:42 p.m. Monday, midday Christmas, when the Grantville, Pa. casino reported it had reopened and guests were able to return to the gaming complex.
No details have been released about the reason for the holiday shutdown. It was attributed to a “technical issue,” according to regional news site PennLive.com.
Whatever the difficulty, PennLive reported that it did not involve the police. Therefore, law enforcement did not need to respond to the casino when the property was temporarily closed.
No details about the closure were available in a sparse post on social media.
Although we had briefly closed due to a technical issue, we wanted to confirm the casino is currently open, ”stated the casino’s 12:42 p.m. Facebook post.
“ Thank you for your patience and have a great day! ”Added the statement.
Some visitors complained about the closure, according to social media posts.
Officials also told PennLive that the casino had a reduced staff working on the holiday due to Christmas, which reportedly made the process of reopening the facility slower.
The Hollywood Casino had been scheduled to remain open throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The casino’s game floor is regularly open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The casino floor includes over 1,750 slot machines, as well as table games like blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette.
