Visitors at Oyo Hotel & Casino reportedly lodged complaints with Clark County authorities after elevator service at the Las Vegas establishment was irregular this week.
Hotel guests also took to social media platforms to voice their complaints about the faulty elevators.
Many guests at the Tropicana Avenue gaming property had to resort to using the stairs as most of the elevators were not operational on Wednesday.
At one point, none of the elevators were working and guests had to climb stairs,” stated one complaint. “This was a problem as the person reporting mentioned their spouse had a disability.
Some of the hotel’s elevators did not have proper permits during recent inspections, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Additionally, in August and last Saturday, some elevators were involved in incidents where passengers got stuck, according to the report.
Other elevators were taken out of service after passengers were trapped on August 30 and September 7. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
On July 8, Clark County officials received a complaint about non-functioning elevators at the hotel. Previous malfunctions had been posted on social media platforms between March and July.
Prior to this, the casino-hotel had issues with its air conditioning.
Slot Player Allegedly Cheated with Massage Gun
A man was arrested this week after allegedly using a device to cheat on a slot machine at Washington State’s Northern Quest Resort & Casino.
Don Hitchcock, 51, was charged on Tuesday and appeared in a court in Spokane, Wash., after being caught using a massage gun inappropriately, as reported by Washington TV station KHQ.
He was ordered to stay away from gambling establishments. Hitchcock admitted to using the massage gun on the slots, according to the report.
During five visits over the past few months, Hitchcock used the device to interfere with the coin platform on the slot machine, causing coins to drop from the payout area due to his actions.
Driver Crashes Into Casino
A driver crashed into Papa’s Casino in Moses Lake, Wash., on Wednesday.
The unnamed man sustained injuries and eventually made his way into a restroom within the gaming property, authorities mentioned.
The unidentified 69-year-old driver seemed to have a medical episode before driving into the building, according to Spokane TV station KAYU. He was taken to Samaritan Hospital for assessment and treatment, and is expected to recover.
There is no information available on the severity of his injuries, and as of earlier this week, he had not been charged.
The exterior of the casino building suffered damage from the crash, with no repair estimate provided by the police.
