Merkur Gaming US, a branch of the German-based Merkur Group, has secured a license for the production and distribution of its gaming products in Nevada. This achievement positions Merkur to tap into one of the premier casino markets in the United States.
Additionally, the Nevada Gaming Commission has sanctioned Merkur’s acquisition of Gaming Arts LLC, a licensed gaming operator located in Las Vegas, which stands as a strategic ally of the German gaming powerhouse. The deal is expected to finalize by early Q3 2025.
“This license acts as a vital strategic tool for broadening our international operations and sets the groundwork for a stable and prosperous future for the entire Group,” remarks Lars Felderhoff, Chairman of the Management Board of the Merkur Group.
The U.S. gaming market isn’t new for the Merkur Group. The organization first received the prized Nevada license in 1998, but pulled out from the U.S. landscape in the early 2000s. Now, with the international sales and development entity Merkur Gaming, the Group has successfully regained approval from Nevada regulators to return as an informed and welcomed member of the market.

Michael Gauselmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Merkur Group, stated: “With Nevada’s approval, this moment highlights and reinforces the Merkur Group’s commitment to compliance and forward-thinking in every sector.
Furthermore, the approval for the acquisition of Gaming Arts LLC is another crucial component for the Merkur Group in formally re-entering the North American market as a certified manufacturer. This purchase enhances the existing strategic partnership between both entities.
“The positive and collaborative relationship with Gaming Arts LLC has greatly aided in establishing all necessary conditions for both the licensing and the forthcoming acquisition,” Felderhoff explains. “We deeply appreciate the outstanding partnership.”
The application for the Nevada license is seen as “a natural progression” in Merkur Group’s enhanced international expansion plan. “The business landscape in our core market, Germany, has grown increasingly complex due to stricter regulatory conditions. Nevertheless, along with the entire sector, we remain optimistic about the long-term prospects of the German gaming landscape,” Felderhoff adds.
“Our extensive experience and consistent success provide a strong foundation for concentrating our efforts on international gaming markets and promoting the Merkur brand globally,” he continues. “Our return to the North American casino market will significantly boost the international growth of the Merkur Group and solidify its standing within the industry.”
