A recently launched dual-branded Marriott hotel is now operational next to Harrah’s Racing and Casino in Columbus, providing guests with immediate access to the casino and beautiful racetrack views.

The Fairfield Inn and Suites and TownePlace Suites, created by Midas Hospitality from St. Louis, had its grand opening in June, as reported by the Columbus Telegram. This four-story establishment features spectacular views of the racetrack where horses race, along with a convenient connection to the adjacent casino through a brief indoor corridor.

Foreman Lumber, a long-standing, family-owned business in Columbus, was instrumental in the hotel’s construction. The partnership between Foreman Lumber and Midas Hospitality emerged after the 2020 amendments to Nebraska’s constitution that legalized casino gambling at licensed horse racing tracks.

Craig Foreman, co-owner of Foreman Lumber, shared that the hotel concept arose after his family was approached about improving tourism by providing accommodations. “We collaborated with David Robert from Midas Hospitality, and their approachable nature made for a smooth partnership,” he noted. “They recognized the importance of connecting the hotel to the casino in a small town like Columbus.”

Foreman expressed appreciation for Midas Hospitality’s capability in managing the project from inception to inauguration. “Their support throughout the design, construction, and the hotel’s readiness for guests made the Fairfield Inn and Suites and TownePlace Suites a notable achievement,” he remarked.

Midas Hospitality also oversees the hotel’s management. The company specializes in developing and managing hotels across the United States, representing recognized brands like Marriott, Hilton, and IHG.

Established in 1952, Foreman Lumber supplies various building materials and construction services throughout the area.
