The Pascua Yaqui Tribe has announced the name for its future casino location along Interstate 10. The establishment at 1055 W. Grant Road will be known as Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa’am, distinguishing it from the flagship Casino Del Sol situated on Valencia Road.
“Selecting Vahi Taa’am embodies the Tribe’s culture, language, and aspirations,” stated Amanda Lomayesva, interim CEO of Casino Del Sol. “It represents light and signifies a promising future for our employees, visitors, and the wider Tucson community.”
Vahi Taa’am translates to “Three Suns” in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people, and acts as a location identifier in tandem with the official name, which will remain Casino Del Sol. Pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm, this descriptor aims to foster clarity and consistency in communications.
Set to launch in early 2027, the new venue is projected to generate 500 jobs and bolster the economic landscape of Southern Arizona while functioning as a central point for entertainment and hospitality, according to tribal representatives.
