There’s some encouraging news for the Las Vegas Strip casino sector following recent downturns – July’s revenue showed a 5.6% uptick compared to the same month in 2024.

Las Vegas Strip Generates $749 Million
As per the latest statistics published by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, revenue from Las Vegas Strip casinos reached USD $749 million, an increase from USD $709 million in July 2024.
Downtown casino revenue also grew by 3.6% year-over-year, now totaling USD $74.4 million (up from USD $71.8 million in July 2024).
In total, Nevada casinos declared USD $1.359 billion in revenue for July, which is a 3.99% rise from July 2024 (USD $1.3 billion).
Canada’s Impact on Tourism
Clark County reported USD $1.15 billion in revenue, a 3.24% increase from July 2024.
While casino revenues improved, visitor numbers saw a decline. Data from Harry Reid International Airport indicated that 4.4 million passengers traveled to and from Las Vegas in July, a drop from 4.7 million during the same month last year, reflecting a 5.9% decrease.
By the end of July, a total of 29.8 million visitors had arrived and departed from Las Vegas, compared to 31.2 million during the same period last year, marking a 4.6% decrease.
International Traveler Decline
The influx of international visitors to Las Vegas fell by 3.8% in July, with 279,726 travelers compared to 290,883 in the previous year. Cumulatively, international travel is down 1.8% year-to-date.
Canada’s statistics are particularly noteworthy. In July, Air Canada welcomed 39,197 passengers, reflecting a 24.5% drop from July 2024, yet an 8.7% increase from June.
WestJet, another prominent Canadian airline, experienced a 5.6% decline in Las Vegas-bound passengers in July relative to June (44,273 compared to 46,878), and a staggering 33.6% decrease compared to July of the previous year.
