Sky River Casino in California has recently reached a significant milestone in its expansion journey, hosting a ‘topping off’ ceremony to place the last precast concrete section of the new parking facility.
The enhanced garage, coupled with a newly introduced valet service and porte cochere, is set to provide covered parking by early 2026.
“Completion of this phase signifies that we can finally embark on realizing our vision for a premier resort,” remarked Raquel Williams, Vice-Chair of Wilton Rancheria. “This project represents an investment in our shared future, promising economic growth for our tribal citizens, the Elk Grove community, and the Greater Sacramento area for years to come through the creation of new jobs and avenues.”
Wilton Rancheria, recognized as the only federally recognized tribe within Sacramento County, controls nearly 170 acres, including the Sky River Casino and adjacent land, out of which 77 acres consists of traditional Rancheria land currently held in federal trust.
Michael Facenda, President of Sky River Casino, expressed that the ceremony symbolizes “the enduring spirit of Wilton Rancheria,” marking a pivotal moment for the tribe. He added that the expansion is indicative of the casino’s commitment to a promising future for both the tribe and the nearby community.
“Our expansion progress is on schedule as anticipated,” he noted. “It is gratifying to witness the project advancing while engaging with our guests who have experienced the journey alongside us.”
The casino’s expansion will feature a more extensive gaming area, a high-limit lounge, and a 300-room hotel complete with a spa, outdoor pool, and event facilities. A distinctive hotel atrium will showcase sky views, symbolizing the tribe’s bond with nature. The anticipated completion date is set for 2027.
Currently, Sky River employs around 1,600 team members. The upcoming expansion is expected to generate additional job opportunities to accommodate the new offerings.
