BetMGM elevates Jarrod Schwarz to the position of new COO

BetMGM has appointed Jarrod Schwarz as the first Chief Operating Officer, tasking the former Chief Product Officer with overseeing product management, customer operations, technology, and trading as part of the company’s leadership transformation.

“I am thankful for this chance to take on this new role,” said Schwarz. “It is an honor to further our remarkable journey at BetMGM, enhancing our progress in sports betting and iGaming. I eagerly await collaborating with our extraordinarily skilled team to drive innovation and elevate our market leadership.”

Schwarz has been part of BetMGM for nearly five years as its Chief Product Officer. Bringing over 20 years of expertise in digital product development across e-commerce, entertainment, and sports, he is well-prepared for this expanded role.

Prior to joining BetMGM, Schwarz spent over seven years at Disney, helping to launch ESPN+, the company’s initial direct-to-consumer streaming platform. He also has six years of experience at eBay and served as Vice President of Product at Bloomspot, which was later acquired by JP Morgan Chase.

“Jarrod’s contributions have been integral to establishing BetMGM as one of the most recognizable and successful brands in sports betting and iGaming,” stated CEO Adam Greenblatt. “His consistent leadership, strategic insight, and comprehensive understanding of our business assure me that this transition will enable us to continue delivering top-notch products and experiences for our players.”

In addition to Schwarz’s elevation, BetMGM is integrating its strategy, corporate development, and specific business development operations under the finance division, overseen by Chief Financial Officer Gary Deutsch. The operator has also recently developed two business divisions: iGaming, managed by Oliver Bartlett, and sports, led by Raymond Doyle.

The company indicated that these changes aim to promote more synchronized planning and enhance the integration of its strategic functions.

BetMGM operates in 29 markets, delivering both mobile and retail solutions. Its sportsbook app is available on iOS, Android, and desktop platforms.
