- Mega Millions will be held on Halloween for only the seventh time
- The jackpot for the upcoming drawing is projected at $754 million
- The cash prize option amounts to $352.8 million
This Friday, while countless kids indulge in trick-or-treating, many adults will be eagerly anticipating the Mega Millions results.

According to the Mega Millions Consortium, the grand prize for the Halloween drawing is anticipated to be $754 million, with a cash option of $352.8 million.
“No tricks here! The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever available on Halloween is up for grabs this Friday, October 31,” the lottery stated.
Mega Millions, which is drawn bi-weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 PM Eastern Time from Atlanta’s Georgia Lottery Studios, has seen Halloween drawings a total of six times, with the jackpot evading winners each time.
Since the last jackpot win on June 27, the Mega Millions jackpot has continued to roll. A single ticket sold in Virginia claimed the $348 million prize and opted for the cash payout of $155.6 million, resulting in an estimated net amount of $89 million after taxes.
Your odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot stand at 1 in 290.47 million.
Results from Tuesday
In the recent drawing, eight tickets were close to claiming the Mega Millions jackpot.
These tickets matched four out of five white balls along with the gold Mega Ball, winning between $20,000 and $40,000. Three tickets had a multiplier of 2x, three received 3x, and two won 4x. Sales took place in Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas.
However, no ticket matched all five white balls, which were 2, 19, 33, 53, and 61. The Mega Ball drawn was 14.
A total of 502,089 winning tickets were sold across all categories. The majority of these wins came from matching the gold Mega Ball, with 326,536 winning between $10 and $50.
The previously optional $1 Megaplier has now been integrated into the game, following earlier gameplay updates. The cost of a standard ticket increased from $2 to $5, including the multiplier, which means there are no break-even outcomes anymore.
The multiplier can enhance non-jackpot winnings by doubling to tenfold. Your chances of hitting a 10x multiplier are one in 32, while the 2x multiplier occurs roughly once in every two tickets.
Reaching New Heights
The current Mega Millions jackpot of $754 million ranks as the ninth highest in the history of Mega Millions. The record jackpot occurred in August 2023, with a ticket sold in Florida winning an astonishing $1.6 billion.
Although the jackpot continues to grow, it still has a way to go to reach the top 10 lottery jackpots in US history, with the lowest figure currently at $1.269 billion.
Both Powerball and Mega Millions hold five entries in the top 10 jackpots.
