Great Canadian Entertainment has confirmed the sale of yet another casino in B.C., marking a significant shift in ownership to a local First Nations Group.

A collaborative group from the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe, represented through Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Inc., today announced their purchase of Elements Casino Chilliwack from Great Canadian Entertainment.

Earlier in the current month, the Snuneymuxw First Nation revealed that they had acquired two casinos in British Columbia—River Rock Casino Resort and Chances Maple Ridge—from Great Canadian Entertainment.

Ongoing Casino Acquisitions in B.C.

A transaction revealed in June saw Great Canadian Entertainment divest Casino Nanaimo on Vancouver Island to Petroglyph Development Group Ltd. (PDG), which is entirely owned by the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Additionally, September brought news of the sale of Elements Casino Victoria to PDG.

Elements Casino Chilliwack is located in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia and boasts over 300 slot machines, a mix of live and electronic table games, bingo, dining options, and live entertainment.

The Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe encompasses seven First Nation communities and are the original inhabitants of the Chilliwack River area.
