New Jersey: Caesars and Monmouth Park launch new 16,000-square-foot sportsbook and entertainment space

Caesars Entertainment and Monmouth Park have made a significant leap in New Jersey’s sports betting landscape with the unveiling of a state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook at Monmouth Park in Oceanport. This momentous occasion was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, drawing the attention of local dignitaries and executives from both organizations.

The newly constructed facility, located next to the Monmouth Park clubhouse, covers an impressive 16,000 square feet and offers both indoor and outdoor viewing options, providing direct views of the historic racetrack. This modern venue boasts extensive wall-to-wall screens, over 25 self-service betting kiosks, a centrally positioned bar run by Union Square Events, as well as a VIP section.Caesars Sportsbook InteriorAdditionally, a Shake Shack outlet has been integrated, offering its complete menu. In conjunction with sports betting, patrons can also participate in pari-mutuel race betting.

Dan Shapiro, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Caesars Digital, expressed: “It’s only fitting that this cutting-edge venue opens at Monmouth Park, the birthplace of legal sports betting in New Jersey, enhancing its storied legacy.”

“With this initiative, we are thrilled to support horse racing in the Garden State. We anticipate that this newly integrated sports betting experience will attract new enthusiasts from the Jersey Shore and beyond.”Caesars Sportsbook Entrance Dennis Drazin, Chairman and CEO of Darby Development LLC, which oversees Monmouth Park Racetrack, remarked on the extensive planning behind this project. “We take great pride in collaborating with Caesars and are excited to provide fans with this advanced sportsbook,” he added.

This has been a long time in the pipeline and it is gratifying to see it finally come to fruition as we further enhance Monmouth Park’s reputation as a premier entertainment and gaming hub in the state.”

The inauguration is the culmination of a multi-year initiative aimed at establishing Monmouth Park’s on-site sportsbook presence, which began in 2018 when the track processed New Jersey’s first legal in-person sports wager following the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act. This new establishment represents the most extensive offering to date for on-site sports bettors at the track.

Residents of New Jersey aged 21 and older can also take advantage of Caesars’ digital platform via the Caesars Sportsbook & Casino app. This app features same-game parlays, player props, futures, in-play markets, and live streaming of major sporting events, including NFL matches. Additionally, it offers a selection of online casino games, along with a variety of responsible gaming tools such as deposit and spending limits, as well as cooling-off features.

Caesars also emphasized its commitment to responsible gaming initiatives. The company pioneered Project 21 in 1989, becoming the first commercial casino operator to implement a structured program focused on addressing problem gambling.

In 2024, Sportsbook achieved RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council in Ontario, a commendation highlighting compliance with high standards in responsible gaming practices. The company also received the National Council on Problem Gambling’s award for Corporate Social Responsibility.
