Loto-Québec has announced plans for a new gaming hall in Saguenay, situated 120 miles north of Quebec City and home to over 152,000 residents.

This picturesque city, renowned for its natural scenery and national parks, is positioned along the Saguenay Fjord, which flows into the St. Lawrence River. The new gaming hall will be established at the Delta Hotel and its conference center.
Construction is set to commence with a completion timeline of 18 months. Saguenay’s tourism potential is significant, contributing to the region’s economy alongside wood and aluminum industries. This project is expected to attract more visitors and conference participants.
Gaming Hall Set to Launch in 18 Months
“We are excited to announce this venture in Saguenay, a dynamic region recognized for its hospitality and growth opportunities,” stated Jean-Francois Bergeron, President and CEO of Loto-Québec. “The gaming salon will provide considerable benefits to the local community through job creation, increased tourism spending, and new business collaborations.”
“Our commitment is to create a safe and responsible gaming environment, promoting low-risk gambling. Our team is trained to assist clients, and the facility will implement advanced security measures.”
Features of the Gaming Salons
According to a statement from Loto-Québec, the gaming hall will offer not only gaming options but also live performances and entertainment. The launch event in Saguenay was attended by several local officials, including Jonquière MNA Yannick Gagnon and Saguenay Mayor Luc Boivin, alongside regional economic and tourism leaders.
Loto-Québec oversees gaming operations in the province, which currently includes three other gaming halls—Salon de jeux de Quebec (in Quebec City), Salon de jeux de Trois-Rivières, and the Salon de jeux de Rimouski, which is under construction and slated to open in 2026 at Hotel Rimouski. The gaming halls feature slot machines, video lottery terminals, electronic roulette, and electronic blackjack.
Economic Benefits
“We warmly welcome Loto-Québec to our city,” expressed Luc Boivin, Mayor of Saguenay. “Promoting Saguenay is a top priority for me, and this new location, which emphasizes high-quality offerings in a secure setting, will enhance our city’s appeal as a tourist hub and provide a crucial asset for hosting business events. We are committed to supporting Loto-Québec to ensure the project’s success and foster economic growth for the broader region.”
