Early Sunday morning, a section of the Las Vegas Strip was temporarily closed off as numerous police vehicles responded to an incident outside Paris Las Vegas.
Social media footage showed a significant law enforcement presence, with one witness labeling the event as “chaotic,” claiming around 100 police vehicles were actively engaged. The visuals also highlighted a police helicopter circling above, directing its spotlight on the scene as officers arrived.
Chaotic Scene
In a subsequent announcement, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) clarified that they responded to an incident involving a belligerent crowd which developed outside the resort, triggered by a performance leading to traffic disruptions.
“Officers approached the crowd, attempting to arrest several individuals,” stated LVMPD. “At one point, an officer was injured from an object thrown by someone in the crowd.”
Authorities noted that 11 persons were arrested due to the unrest. Given the crowd’s scale and the dynamic nature of the situation, multiple police units were dispatched for support.
LVMPD stressed that the situation was resolved peacefully, with no reported injuries among officers. Both vehicular and foot traffic, which had been severely restricted during the incident, have since returned to normal, although a notable police presence remained in the vicinity as a precautionary measure.
Injury-Free Incident
Details regarding the individuals arrested or the specific nature of the performance that gathered the crowd remain undisclosed. Officials confirmed no public injuries occurred.
