  • Rooms at The Cromwell will be closed for two months starting February 15 for Vanderpump-branded renovations.
  • Caesars promises revamped rooms, suites, bars, and a new Vanderpump-themed lounge.
  • Reservations will resume on April 13

Caesars Entertainment is putting the brakes on its previous commitment to keep The Cromwell open during its transition into the Vanderpump Hotel. This boutique property, operated by Caesars, will feature the branding, design, and elements licensed from Bravo reality star and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump. The hotel will be closed from February 15 until April 13, as indicated by Caesars’ online reservation platform, which is currently not taking bookings for that period.

During the final two-month renovation period, only the casino and Giada, the property’s sole restaurant, will remain open.

April 13 is anticipated to be the grand opening day for the Vanderpump Hotel. However, Caesars has not yet made an official announcement. (Notably, that date falls on a Monday, suggesting a VIP preliminary opening celebration might occur the weekend prior.)

Pump It Up

This past March, Caesars unveiled many details about the hotel’s revamped interior, promising updated check-in and central bar areas along with renovations to all 188 guest rooms. Nineteen reimagined suites have been defined by Vanderpump as “attainable luxury.”

A brand new lounge is also part of the revamped offerings.

Earlier this year, Casino.org’s own Vital Vegas reported that Vanderpump (the individual, not the hotel) alongside designer Nick Alain is spearheading the redesign. According to her licensing agreement, she’ll be required to make an annual appearance for promotional events.

This agreement follows the successful launches of Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, and Pinky’s by Vanderpump at the Flamingo Hotel Casino.

A Fresh Brand

This will mark the third rebranding for the establishment located at the northeast intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. The Cromwell debuted in 2014 as a stylish redeployment of Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon, a budget-friendly venue opened in 2007 by Caesars (formerly Harrah’s) on the site of the Barbary Coast.

The original property was launched by casino entrepreneur Michael Gaughan in 1979, situated on the grounds of the former Empey’s Desert Villa, which opened in 1952 and transformed into the Times Square Motel in 1974.

Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall was on the brink of rebranding in 2014 to become Gansevoort Las Vegas until a Massachusetts Gaming Commission investigation exposed connections between Gansevoort investor Arik Kislin and Russian organized crime.
