Documents sourced from KLAS-TV/Las Vegas indicate that two individuals fell gravely ill after entering the garage of a suburban Las Vegas home, which authorities raided and where hundreds of vials with unknown liquids and over 1,000 biological samples were confiscated.

The reported health issues occurred prior to the FBI and local authorities’ intervention on January 31, which included using robotic equipment to secure the premises. Officials have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.

Investigators clarified that the main suspect is not being actively pursued, as he has been in federal custody since October 2023. David He, a Chinese national known by several aliases including Jai Bei Zhu, Jesse Zhu, and Qiang He, is facing charges for allegedly producing and distributing misbranded medical devices at another illegal biolab in Reedley, California.

The Reedley facility reportedly contained vials labeled with dangerous pathogens such as “HIV,” “dengue fever,” and “malaria,” in addition to 1,000 lab mice, based on federal claims.

Additional Suspect Arrested

The investigation has also led to the arrest of Ori Solomon, the 55-year-old manager of the Las Vegas property. Authorities noted that He had attempted to contact Solomon 467 times from federal prison in January. He is facing charges for the improper disposal and release of hazardous materials.

Additionally, KLAS reported that Solomon faces a gun charge stemming from the discovery of several rifles and handguns found at his residence, as he was not authorized to possess them while on a non-immigrant visa.

On January 9, the FBI reached out to the Southern Nevada Health District regarding a facility on Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas that allegedly housed medical equipment, which was reportedly not located. Authorities suspect this equipment may have been transferred to the Sugar Springs property.

Following his arrest, He’s wife, Zhaoyan Wang, fled to China. Officials believe she may still have access to surveillance cameras monitoring the Las Vegas biolab. In a staggering revelation, He reached out to her 3,524 times from prison, according to investigators.

Samples and pertinent evidence from the site have been sent to FBI laboratories for thorough testing and evaluation.

The residence on Sugar Springs Drive in Northeast Las Vegas has also been functioning as a short-term rental.
