DraftKings introduces online sports wagering in Puerto Rico via partnership with Foxwoods El San Juan Casino

DraftKings has rolled out its online sportsbook service to qualified users in Puerto Rico as of Monday, enhancing digital betting availability throughout the region following the launch of a physical sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November.

This mobile platform is exclusive to residents of Puerto Rico. To utilize the online sportsbook, users must complete an in-person registration at the casino. Once registered, patrons can take advantage of a variety of digital features, including in-game betting, same-game parlays, enhanced odds boosts, and diverse betting options on major leagues such as MLB, NFL, and NBA.

Visitors to Puerto Rico are not allowed to access the online sportsbook. However, tourists can place wagers at the retail sportsbook located within Foxwoods El San Juan Casino.

Puerto Rico boasts a vibrant sports culture, and launching our online sportsbook enables us to engage with fans directly. With the retail operation already active at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, our mobile offering marks a significant step in enhancing the DraftKings experience throughout the island—providing eligible local users with a smooth, thrilling, and responsible way to participate in sports betting,” stated Gregory Karamitis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports at DraftKings.

The company highlighted that responsible gaming practices are a core focus of its online launch. DraftKings has introduced tools like My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet via its Responsible Gaming Center, allowing customers to track and control their betting behaviors.

responsible gaming initiatives are a collective priority shared with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods El San Juan Casino.

Since its legalization in 2019, Puerto Rico’s sports betting sector has evolved through a retail-first model that necessitates in-person registration at casinos prior to gaining online access. Competitors differ in access eligibility and features, with some allowing tourist participation.

Additionally, DraftKings and online sportsbook partner FanDuel submitted applications in Arkansas earlier this week to forge partnerships with two of the state’s three casinos as part of their endeavors to establish online sportsbook operations there.
