The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has recommended the approval of an innovative gaming salon at Park MGM, enabling visitors to be professionally recorded while engaging in table games. This unique initiative has been compared by regulators to the “souvenir” experience one might have on a theme park roller coaster.

This proposal represents the first significant implementation of a “hybrid” gaming area since Nevada relaxed its salon regulations last fall, allowing for the video and audio capture of real-money wagering.

High-Roller Coaster Experience

The planned salon at Park MGM will serve as both a public gaming space and a broadcast-ready studio. Chandler Pohl, legal counsel for MGM Resorts International, explained that the area integrates a television-style recording overlay, seamlessly blending with the traditional gaming atmosphere.

“Our MGM interactive team has identified a growing interest in the gaming community for capturing players’ experiences for their enjoyment,” Pohl stated during the Wednesday hearing, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

In the “public” format, any player who wins a jackpot can quickly download a high-definition, multi-angle video of their victory, similar to a digital keepsake from an amusement ride.

The salon will also convert into a private studio for influencers and celebrities. MGM executives noted the studio’s strategic location near the T-Mobile Arena aims to attract athletes and celebrities who desire a private, state-of-the-art space to capture their gaming moments for social media or personal archives. (Members of the public will be kindly asked to exit during private recording sessions.)

This initiative signals a remarkable transformation for the Las Vegas Strip, where filming table games once resulted in an immediate escort from security guards.

Social Media Hub

  1. HyperX Arena, Luxor
Opened in March 2018, this impressive 30,000-square-foot broadcast center was designed for esports and video game streamers, featuring the OMEN Streamer Room that allows creators to broadcast live from a glass booth at the entrance, although limited to digital gaming and PC content.
  2. Kingpin and Hardwood Production Suites, Palms
Renovated in November 2018, these two luxurious high-roller suites serve as ready-made production sets, offering production packages for creators, including MrBeast. This sets them apart from typical high-roller suites in other resorts, which don’t allow professional crews (tripods, lighting, etc.) to film without special media permits.
  3. Vegas Live Casino Network, The Plaza (downtown)
Inaugurated in January 2021 as Britan Christopher Slots, it expanded in February to include a dedicated live-streaming studio complete with copyright-free music and specialized lighting for YouTubers to showcase their slot, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat sessions.

The NGCB’s favorable recommendation will now go to the Nevada Gaming Commission, which is expected to vote on the Park MGM salon proposal during its meeting on March 26.
