Fanatics Betting and Gaming has revealed the appointment of Alex Smith as the Chief Legal Officer, alongside Sara Tait who has been named Senior Vice President and Head of Legal and Regulated Industries.

Under the direction of Fanatics Betting and Gaming CEO Matt King, Smith will join the executive team at FBG and will oversee legal, regulatory, compliance, and government affairs strategies for the burgeoning sports betting and iGaming sector.

Having joined FBG in 2021 as VP of Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Smith played a pivotal role in the state-by-state rollout of Fanatics Sportsbook across the U.S.

Reporting to Alex Smith, Tait will oversee a broad range of responsibilities that cover various strategic legal matters within FBG, particularly as counsel for regulated gaming and market products.

Her role involves fostering and managing FBG’s relationships with state and federal regulators, supporting government affairs initiatives and strategic industry projects; enhancing consumer protection initiatives; and ensuring compliance with licensing and registration mandates from federal and state authorities.
