Caesars Entertainment stands as one of the largest and most prestigious casino operators in the United States, managing over 50 properties across 18 states. After years in operation, the sought-after Caesars Palace Las Vegas brand has finally made its debut in Oklahoma, a leading market in tribal gaming within the country.

Almost three years ago, the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma appointed Caesars as its partner in developing and managing the tribe’s most significant casino investment, featuring a 45,000-square-foot gaming space with over 1,000 slot machines, a high-limit gaming area, and several live dealer table games. Both parties equally financed the $40 million project for this standalone casino.
Harrah’s Oklahoma celebrated its grand opening this week in Chandler, located approximately 40 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
“This is a significant milestone for our team, our partners, and the Chandler community. We are excited to officially launch and present a destination that embodies the Harrah’s experience while also offering something fresh and exceptional for Oklahoma,” stated Joe Scibetta, SVP and General Manager of Harrah’s Oklahoma.
“This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to fostering economic development and opportunity for our people,” added Jake Keyes, chairman of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. “Harrah’s Oklahoma injects new energy into our community and opens up valuable opportunities for future generations.”
Renowned Oklahoma football figures Bob Stoops, who notably coached the Oklahoma Sooners from 1999 to 2016 and clinched the National Championship in 2000, and Barry Switzer, who guided the Sooners to National Championships in 1974, 1975, and 1985, played the inaugural hands of blackjack at Harrah’s Oklahoma.
Upcoming Developments
The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma has closed its Ioway Casino, a smaller gaming venue, to pave the way for Harrah’s Oklahoma. Anticipating an influx of visitors drawn by the Harrah’s brand, the tribe and Caesars have additional plans for the establishment.
If demand justifies it, Harrah’s Oklahoma has plans in place to develop a hotel featuring up to 200 accommodations. The new casino offers a variety of dining options, including Arrow & Ember for contemporary American cuisine, the Dash Café for quick bites, and a sports bar.
Harrah’s Oklahoma is expected to generate over 300 job opportunities in areas such as gaming, hospitality, food and beverage service, facilities management, security, and administrative functions.
Tribal Casinos in Oklahoma
In the fiscal year 2025, Oklahoma’s Native American tribes reported gross gaming revenue exceeding $3.64 billion. The state benefitted from over $221 million in exclusivity fees from the tribes’ Class III gaming compacts, which mandate sharing a percentage of the slot and non-house-banked table game revenue with the state.
Oklahoma ranks among the top tribal gaming states alongside California, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Washington, Oregon, and New York.
