Authorities recovered 22 firearms from a vehicle linked to a mass-shooting threat investigation over the weekend. These weapons were reportedly owned by the suspect’s ex-spouse, who is employed as a firearms dealer, as reported by KVVU‑TV/Las Vegas.

In an exclusive interview, Julie Howlett, who called 911 to report that Allison Howlett had taken her car and threatened to “shoot up the Las Vegas Strip,” stated: “Those were all my guns – every single one.”
Julie clarified that she was in the process of transporting the firearms out of state as part of her duties as a licensed gun dealer.

On Saturday, June 27, Henderson police apprehended Allison Howlett after locating Julie’s stolen vehicle in the parking garage of Sunset Station Casino, situated about 10 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Multiple firearms, including rifles, pistols, and suppressor-equipped weapons along with high-capacity magazines—several regulated under the National Firearms Act—were discovered in the vehicle.
Julie reported that the confrontation had begun earlier that day when she noticed unauthorized charges on her credit card. She recounted an incident where Allison allegedly pointed a gun at her head, inciting a struggle.
“She pulled the trigger—she intended to kill me,” Julie said, explaining how she managed to overpower Allison and disarm her. Shortly after, Allison fled and supposedly took Julie’s vehicle, which was still filled with firearms.
Standoff at Sunset
Henderson police tracked the vehicle to the Sunset Station’s parking garage and confronted Allison at 11:18 a.m. Officers reported that she ignored commands, blasted loud music, and made continuous obscene gestures.
Officers ultimately pulled her through the driver’s side window and used a Taser to bring her under control. A handgun was located in the driver’s seat, while a suppressor-equipped submachine gun was found in the back seat, as detailed in the arrest report.
Julie informed KVVU that Allison’s threats were an ongoing issue.
“This has been happening for a very long time,” she said, remarking that she had repeatedly reached out to law enforcement without significant action being taken. Henderson police confirmed they had responded to the residence four times.
Julie mentioned that on June 21, just six days prior to Allison’s arrest, police had placed Allison on a Legal 2000 mental-health hold after she reportedly aimed a firearm at both her own head and Julie’s.
According to the arrest report, Allison initially made a mass-shooting threat on January 26, 2024, stating on video: “If the FBI doesn’t come arrest me, there will be a mass shooting one day.” Law enforcement indicated that such threats persisted throughout 2024, continuing into early 2025, and again surfaced in the weeks leading up to the June 27 incident.
Charges and Additional Seizures
The Clark County District Attorney’s Office has filed 35 felony charges against Allison, including assault with a deadly weapon categorized as domestic violence, grand larceny of a firearm, grand larceny of a vehicle, possession of illegal firearms and silencers, among other related charges. (Although Julie legally owned the firearms as a licensed dealer, this does not grant Allison the legal right to possess them.)
A search conducted at their residence uncovered over two dozen additional firearms, including an M2 .50-caliber machine gun, an M5 rocket launcher, and rifles modified with grenade launchers. Allison is currently being held on a $500,000 bail and is scheduled for a court appearance later this month.
