If you find yourself managing one of the most poorly rated hotels in Las Vegas, a clever tactic to shake off that negative reputation is to masquerade as an entirely different establishment. This seems to be the approach taken by Oyo Las Vegas, as it markets itself under fictitious names with AI-enhanced images on major travel booking sites.
Recent investigations revealed that Oyo is presenting itself online as “Palette Las Vegas” and “Collection O Las Vegas,” neither of which actually exists in the real world (however, they could exist in the future if Oyo decides to rebrand).

The online listings showcase digitally altered images that replace Oyo’s branding with a more modern and appealing look. Casino.org discovered these listings on Expedia, Booking.com, Travelocity, Orbitz, Trip.com, and even Oyo’s own site.
A Case of Misleading Advertising
This controversy gained traction when social media influencer Jennifer Gay, known as Vegas Starfish, highlighted a report from TikTok user Ariana Patiño. Patiño, who was unaware of the local hotel scene, thought she had uncovered a great deal located just a short walk from the Strip near Tropicana Avenue. She only realized she’d booked Oyo—the very hotel she had been warned to avoid—upon her arrival.
Gay has consistently rated Oyo as one of the bottom-tier accommodations in Las Vegas, citing issues with cleanliness, safety, and malfunctioning amenities. Patiño’s experience only served to underline those criticisms.
The choice of names by Oyo isn’t arbitrary. Palette is a legitimate brand under Oyo’s parent organization, Prism (previously known as Oravel Stays). Prism manages several hotel brands, including Oyo, Motel 6, Townhouse, Sunday, and Palette.
Oyo’s Las Vegas location has faced challenges for years. In October 2025, Oyo corporate dismissed its operator, Highgate Hotels, following a cybersecurity breach. Since that time, guests and industry experts have characterized the hotel as inconsistent and poorly run.
Ironic Ironies
Interestingly, Oyo’s listing on Expedia boasts 6 out of 10 stars based on 2,314 reviews, while Palette’s listing—plummeting to 2 stars due to a lone negative review from August 3, 2026—suffers from a bad reputation.
The reviewer, identified as Ron R., criticized the incorrect hotel name, lack of signage, and inoperable elevators. He described an unsafe and chaotic experience, having to navigate staircases without any guidance while receiving no assistance from the staff.
A response from an account named Palette, posted on August 4, stated: “We are taking immediate steps to address the significant issues you faced, including the inconveniences related to the hotel name, absence of signage, and non-functional elevators. We recognize the associated safety risks and are committed to preventing such occurrences in the future.”
As of now, there has been no public statement from Oyo addressing this troubling situation.
