BetMGM, the powerhouse behind the Borgata Online casino platform in New Jersey, has unveiled a cutting-edge addition that combines iGaming and nostalgia. This innovative offering is set to resonate with players of all ages.
BetMGM has announced the launch of the Borgata Arcade on the Borgata Online app and website. This unique Arcade is packed with non-traditional iGaming content, featuring classic amusements such as skeeball and iconic arcade titles like “Street Fighter II.”
The recently debuted Borgata Arcade boasts an impressive collection of 118 interactive titles, including numerous Slingo products and celebrity-branded games from legends like Wayne Gretzky, John Daly, Jimi Hendrix, Gordon Ramsay, Motorhead, and Guns N’ Roses.
“Borgata Arcade offers an all-in-one place for players to find their favorite games,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer. “From the traditional shopping mall arcade to its popularity in home consoles, the arcade continues to evolve as BetMGM now brings it to life in iGaming.”
To encourage participation, BetMGM is running a promotion for its players to try out the Borgata Arcade. Users have the chance to win up to $1,000 in site credit by staking a minimum of $20 in the Arcade.
With the addition of the Borgata Arcade, BetMGM’s iGaming platform in New Jersey now offers over 1,500 games. This extensive selection includes slots, table games, live dealer options, arcade games, virtual sports, variety games, bingo, and keno.
Arcades on the Rise in Atlantic City
Atlantic City is embracing the resurgence of arcades and amusements, aiming to attract new visitors to the vibrant casino town.
The former casino floor of the Showboat, once operated by Caesars Entertainment until its closure in 2014, is now home to the “Biggest Arcade in America” known as the Lucky Snake. This massive 200,000-square-foot arcade also features an indoor go-kart track. The Lucky Snake boasts a staggering collection of over 600 arcade games.
Harrah’s Atlantic City in the Marina District has recently inaugurated its own offering called The Arcade. This 5,328-square-foot space provides a high-energy, multi-sensory experience suitable for all ages. Among the attractions at the Harrah’s Arcade are a giant claw machine and various VR games.
Dave & Busters is also preparing to open its first Atlantic City location. With a focus on family-friendly entertainment, this 21,000-square-foot establishment, featuring a restaurant and kid-focused arcade, will soon be welcoming guests at the Tanager Outlets shopping center.
While arcades may have lost some popularity in other parts of the country, amusements and carnivals have always been an integral part of life for the youth of New Jersey.
The hit 1988 fantasy comedy movie “Big” revolved around the adventures of a young boy named Josh Baskin, played by Tom Hanks, who resided in a New Jersey town. One pivotal scene in the film took place at the Palisades Interstate Park, featuring a fortune-teller amusement machine called “Zoltar” that granted the character’s wish to become an adult.
New Jersey Leads the iGaming Market
New Jersey is among the select few states that allow online casinos with slots and table games. The iGaming industry is thriving, with the interactive platforms associated with the nine Atlantic City casinos generating over $1.4 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR) through September 2023.
Borgata’s online operations have been leading the way, as the casino’s online partners have contributed $375.8 million to the internet GGR. In addition to BetMGM, Borgata is partnered online in New Jersey with PartyCasino, Stardust Casino, and Wheel of Fortune Casino.
