Flamingo Las Vegas is set to have a new Cuban restaurant. As per Scott Roeben from Casino.org‘s Vital Vegas blog, Havana 1957 will move into the former space of the Tropical Breeze Café, which is across from the resort’s vacant buffet space.
Havana 1957 is originally from South Florida and has five locations there. South Florida is home to 1.2 million Cuban-Americans. The restaurant’s goal is to create “a unique dining experience that allows you to spend Un Dia En La Habana and relive the glory and glamour of old Cuba during the 1950’s.”
The signature dish of the restaurant is roasted chicken marinated in a Cuban gravy that offers delightful citric and Caribbean spice notes. It is served with white rice, black beans, roasted premium potatoes, and sweet plantains.
The restaurant’s partners in Las Vegas already operate Cafe Americano at Paris and Caesars Palace, as well as Mercato Della Pescheria at Venetian.
No opening date has been announced yet, as the information was released by Roeben before any official announcement.
Dining In & Out
Crossroads Burgers, the fast-food branch of the upscale vegan restaurant Crossroads Kitchen at Resorts World, has closed. It opened in 2022, taking over the space that was previously occupied by Marigold for only five months. Crossroads Kitchen, owned by celebrity chef Tal Ronnen and backed by Travis Barker (the drummer for Blink-182 and Mr. Kourtney Kardashian), remains open.
New York City chefs and brothers Eric and Bruce Bromberg are planning to open a Mediterranean restaurant as part of the Green Valley Ranch renovation project by Red Rock Casinos. The restaurant, which has yet to be named, will feature fish, meat, poultry, and vegetable selections prepared in an open kitchen. It is scheduled to open by early 2024 alongside the brothers’ third Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in the same casino in Henderson, Nevada. (Their first location opened with The Cosmopolitan in 2010, closed in 2017, and re-emerged later that year as Blue Ribbon. Their second Blue Ribbon Sushi remains open at Red Rock Casino Resort).
The Composers Room Showlounge & Restaurant, a classic Vegas supper club created by Damian Costa, former VP of Entertainment at Caesars, and his new company Pompey Entertainment, will be making its debut this summer at the Historic Commercial Center. The venue will occupy the space once filled by The Vegas Room and the short-lived Coop’s Cabaret.
The Starbucks location in Summerlin, which had been there for 25 years at 1990 Village Center Drive, will be replaced by Foxtail Coffee Co.
Auntie Anne’s, the pretzel chain, is opening its 17th Las Vegas location at the Flamingo.
