The B-52s have recently announced the extension of their successful Vegas residency at the Venetian. After wrapping up 10 dates at the Venetian Theater on September 3, the band will now be adding five more shows to their schedule. Fans can catch their favorite ’80s party-rock classics such as “Rock Lobster,” “Private Idaho,” and “Love Shack” on April 12, 13, 17, 19, and 20, 2024.

This residency announcement came shortly after the band’s “Final Tour Ever of Planet Earth,” which concluded in January after visiting 11 different cities. Kate Pierson expressed her excitement on her Facebook page, stating, “Well never say never! Here we go again!”

Double-Booked

In addition to the residency extension, B-52s lead singer Fred Schneider will be hosting a meet-and-greet and book signing event on August 27. Schneider will be autographing copies of music photographer and author Michael Grecco’s book, “Punk, Post Punk, New Wave: Onstage, Backstage, In Your Face, 1978-1991,” for which he wrote the forward.

The B-52s formed in October 1976 after a fateful meeting at a Chinese restaurant in Athens, Georgia. Consisting of Schneider, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, Cindy Wilson, and Ricky Wilson (who tragically passed away in 1985 due to AIDS-related illness), the band was named after Southern slang for extravagant hairstyles.

Tickets for the additional Venetian shows start at $49.50 and will go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. PT. An artist presale will begin on Tuesday, August 22 at 10 a.m., with The Venetian Resort Grazie Rewards members and Live Nation/Ticketmaster customers receiving a presale code on Wednesday, August 23 at 10 a.m.

The book signing event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 27 at the Punk Rock Museum located at 1422 Western Ave., Las Vegas. Guests who purchase a book from the museum’s retail store will receive free entry to the museum, which is the most comprehensive attraction in the world dedicated to the history of punk rock music, culture, and absurdity.
