The cabana, described as a “gazebo-like structure,” was toppled by sudden high winds during a thunderstorm around 7 p.m., as per officials. The individuals hurt were either nearby or beneath the structure when it fell. They were all transported to Memorial Regional Hospital by Seminole and Hollywood Fire Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries.

Key Entertainment Hub

DAER stands as one of the premier entertainment locations within the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, a major gaming destination in South Florida located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The nightclub frequently hosts DJs, concerts, and poolside events, drawing visitors from all over the region.

This casino resort ranks among the largest gaming and entertainment complexes in the U.S. Managed by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the property features the iconic 450-foot Guitar Hotel, an extensive gaming floor, luxurious accommodations, diverse dining options, bars, and several entertainment venues.

Since the Guitar Hotel’s opening in 2019, the property has emerged as one of South Florida’s most prominent tourist attractions.

Severe Weather Alerts

As reported by The Miami Herald, the area was under a significant weather advisory at the time of the collapse. National Weather Service Senior Meteorologist Chuck Caracozza informed the publication that forecasts had indicated thunderstorms could generate wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph.

The advisory was part of a larger system of weekend storms that affected South Florida, bringing heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds to Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Meteorologists warned that isolated storms could produce winds strong enough to cause minor property damage and create dangerous conditions for outdoor activities.

While DAER Nightclub remained closed immediately following the incident, officials have not released details regarding upcoming events or the status of other outdoor venues within the resort.

The Seminole Tribe has not provided further information about the collapse, aside from acknowledging the injuries and the response by emergency services.
