Allegiant Air, based in Las Vegas, is transforming its services with the long-anticipated launch of complimentary beverage offerings and a premium seating category.

In a strategic move amidst the competitive landscape of ultra-low-cost airlines, Allegiant has announced the immediate rollout of complimentary in-flight beverages. Passengers will now enjoy options such as Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Dasani bottled water, Mr. & Mrs. T Bloody Mary Mix, Seagram’s ginger ale, seltzer, tonic water, and Minute Maid orange juice, apple juice, and cranberry cocktail—all free of charge.
To elevate the experience further, Allegiant will also offer “premium beverages” including La Colombe and Dunkin’ coffees for $5, Core Power Protein Shakes for $6, and Powerade and Smartwater at $6. A selection of beer, wine, and spirits will still be available for purchase.
Previously, Allegiant adhered to a pay-for-everything model, granting passengers access to complimentary water while other bottled drinks and snacks were available only for a fee.
Operations in Las Vegas
As of June, Allegiant ranked as the seventh-largest airline operating out of Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, having served approximately 900,000 travelers year-to-date through June.
Allegiant’s growth trajectory remains strong post-2025 after acquiring Sun Country in a $1.5 billion deal finalized in May. This acquisition not only brings Sun Country customers on board but also positions Allegiant to target the client base of Spirit Airlines after their recent closure in early May, thereby enhancing its competitiveness against Frontier Airlines.
With the introduction of complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, Allegiant is set to unveil a premium seating category, enhancing their ability to compete with Frontier—its main rival in the ultra-low-cost sector—now that Spirit Airlines is off the market.
The new Allegiant First service, launching in spring 2027, promises an upgraded seating experience. Selected aircraft will feature eight Allegiant First seats, offering additional legroom with a 37-inch pitch and enhanced amenities.
“This initiative aims to provide customers with more travel options,” stated Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Modern travelers are increasingly seeking comfort, personalization, and flexibility, and these enhancements represent significant progress in addressing those demands.”
Allegiant First will complement existing offerings, such as Allegiant Extra, which includes extra legroom, reserved overhead bin space, and complimentary snacks.
Frontier Airlines currently provides five classes of seating options, from First Class to Standard, and ranks as the third-largest airline at LAS, serving over 2.1 million passengers through June.
Challenges at Las Vegas
Harry Reid International Airport accommodated fewer than 4.3 million passengers in June, marking a 9.3% decrease compared to the previous year, with 441,109 fewer travelers than June 2025.
This downward trend has persisted through 2026, resulting in a year-to-date passenger total nearly 7% lower at approximately 25.8 million travelers.
