The Colorado man — who shot himself and set off an explosion outside of Trump International Hotel on New Year’s Day — sent a manifesto a day before the Las Vegas blast, according to the recipient.

The rambling message allegedly was emailed by Matthew Livelsberger, 37, to a retired US Army intelligence officer, Sam Shoemate.

A portion of the note reportedly attempted to provide an explanation for the appearance of drones on the East Coast, placing blame on China.

“China has been launching them from the Atlantic from submarines for years, but this activity recently has picked up,” the note states, according to the DailyMail.com. “China is poised to attack anywhere in the east coast.”

Within the manifesto, Livelsberger also alleged being surveilled by FBI or Homeland Security agents for a week, as per Shoemate. Livelsberger claimed awareness of U.S. war crimes against civilians, Shoemate added.

Shoemate forwarded the manifesto to podcaster Shawn Ryan, which was discussed on a recent show. The email was also sent to the FBI and Army officials.

Authorities stated on Friday that they had not definitively confirmed Livelsberger as the author of the manifesto.

Livelsberger’s suicide method was detailed by Las Vegas police on Friday.

It was disclosed that Livelsberger, while seated in a Tesla Cybertruck, placed a firearm in his mouth, pulled the trigger, resulting in the bullet exiting the left side of his head, Clark County Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren revealed.

Simultaneously, Livelsberger activated the explosion, according to police. His demise was classified as a suicide.

Due to the extent of burns, Livelsberger’s body was unidentifiable. Through DNA tests and other means, the Clark County coroner’s office eventually confirmed his identity. Seven individuals in proximity to the truck incurred minor injuries from the explosion.

As per a note released by Las Vegas police on Friday, Livelsberger wrote in part, “We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves.”

“…[R]ight now we are terminally ill and headed toward collapse,” a second note added. “This was not a terrorist attack. It was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives?”

Why did I personally do it now? I needed to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took,” the note added.

Additionally, Spencer Evans, who leads the FBI Las Vegas office, mentioned on Friday that Livelsberger “likely suffered from PTSD” [Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder], along with other issues.

Evans clarified that the Las Vegas explosion was not linked to the deadly New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans. Any similarities were coincidental. Furthermore, there is no evidence of Livelsberger and Shamsud Din Jabbar, the man accused in the New Orleans incident, knowing each other, Evans stated.

According to Evans, Livelsberger was not affiliated with terrorist organizations and acted independently.

A Potential for More Destruction

It appears that Matthew Livelsberger did not fully utilize his skills to create a more destructive explosion.

Matthew Livelsberger’s uncle, Dean Livelsberger, recently informed The Independent that his nephew “could have fashioned a bomb that would have obliterated half of that hotel if he seriously wanted to hurt others.”

Matt was a very skilled warrior, and he would be able to make — if it was him, and if he did this — he would’ve been able to make a more sophisticated explosive than using propane tanks and camping fuel,” Dean Livelsberger said.

Honorable Military Service

Matthew Livelsberger served in the Army for approximately twenty years. He was a Green Beret and received training in military communications, as reported by the New York Post.

During his military tenure, he was deployed to various countries, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, and Congo. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, a combat infantry badge, and an Army Commendation Medal with valor.

Dean Livelsberger added that Matthew Livelsberger was a devoted patriot and a courageous individual.

He loved [Donald] Trump, and he was always a very, very patriotic soldier, a patriotic American. It’s one of the reasons he was in Special Forces for so many years.”
