Louisiana: Bally’s finalizes purchase of Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming

Bally’s Corporation successfully acquired Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming, enhancing its footprint in Louisiana.

This acquisition brings an esteemed gaming and hospitality venue into Bally’s extensive portfolio, further solidifying its stake in the Shreveport-Bossier region. The company announced that the property will soon be transformed under the Bally’s brand.

Today’s acquisition is a significant achievement for Bally’s as we aim to fortify our presence in essential regional markets, focusing on investments in destinations with substantial long-term potential,” stated Soo Kim, Chairman of Bally’s Corporation. “We express our gratitude to Boyd Gaming for their partnership and professionalism during this process and appreciate the thorough review and approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.”

He went on to say that the company will collaborate with regulators, community leaders, and staff to ensure a seamless transition. “Louisiana holds a vital place in our strategy, and we’re enthusiastic about the forthcoming opportunities,” Soo Kim added.

The facility features a gaming floor spanning 29,000 square feet, equipped with 750 slot machines and 14 table games, in addition to a hotel with 514 rooms. The property also boasts diverse dining options, a live entertainment venue, and ample convention and meeting space.

Previously part of Boyd Gaming since 2004, Sam’s Town is situated right next to Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel.

Bally’s has indicated a focus on integrating the new property into its existing operations while ensuring a smooth transition for both employees and guests. The company will evaluate ways to enhance the venue’s offerings.

Rapper and business mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has invested in Shreveport’s entertainment scene, celebrated the acquisition.

“Together, we have a unique opportunity to establish new entertainment, dining, and retail experiences that will draw visitors, bolster local businesses, and contribute to Shreveport’s ongoing growth,” he remarked. “I am eager to collaborate with Bally’s to create an enduring benefit for the community.”

With the addition of Sam’s Town Shreveport, Bally’s will boast a total of 19 properties across 11 states.
