Kids Left in Truck at Casino
Last month, two parents were arrested at Illinois’s Harrah’s Metropolis Hotel & Casino after their children were found unaccompanied inside a vehicle.
On September 16, the two-year-old and 10-year-old kids were discovered in a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck, where they were left unattended for an unspecified period of time. This information was reported by Illinois TV station WSIL.
Upon being notified by casino security, the Metropolis Police Department (MPD) promptly responded to the incident.
The parents have been identified as Joseph D. Scott, aged 30, and Kyra D. Scott, aged 38, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Both parents have been charged with child neglect. However, it remains unclear whether they were gambling while inside the casino.
Subsequently, they were released with a written promise to appear in court.
MPD officers have reported the incident to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
DCFS officials have decided to return the children to their parents without disclosing any details about potential injuries sustained by the children.
