Novig has introduced its federally regulated sports prediction marketplace across the United States following its accreditation as a Designated Contract Market (DCM) by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
This nationwide launch features various platform improvements, such as real-time trading, enhanced liquidity, superior market dynamics, and a broader array of payment methods. The company highlighted that these upgrades aim to deliver users a quicker and more streamlined sports trading experience.
According to Novig, its federally regulated platform incorporates protections to bolster market integrity and promote responsible participation. These safeguards encompass market monitoring, measures against manipulation and insider trading, alongside compliance protocols to ensure participant protection.
Additionally, Novig positions itself as the sole sports prediction market requiring participants to be a minimum of 21 years old.
“For sports enthusiasts, engaging with the markets they are most familiar with has been limited,” stated Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig. “They constitute one of the most passionate and knowledgeable communities globally, yet there has been no platform tailored to their thought processes, interactions, and trading behaviors.”
Fortinsky mentioned that Novig was developed to redefine this experience by establishing a benchmark for modern sports prediction markets.
“This has involved focusing on trust, transparency, and responsible engagement,” the CEO elaborated. “Our launch marks a significant milestone in delivering this vision to an even larger audience.”
Novig also revealed it has exceeded $6 billion in total trading volume, solidifying its status as the fastest-expanding sports prediction market in the U.S. The firm anticipates that this nationwide availability will boost user adoption while continuing to enhance liquidity and efficiency in the market.
Founded in 2021, Novig originally functioned as a sweepstakes sportsbook and developed an in-house trading team to facilitate a more peer-to-peer exchange before transitioning to the prediction markets model.
In conjunction with its expansion efforts, Novig applied for CFTC regulatory approval in January and successfully closed a $75 million funding round the following month. This latest funding raised the company’s total capital to more than $100 million since September 2025.
Novig asserts that its platform aims to provide an alternative to conventional sports betting by eliminating what it characterizes as unfair odds and limitations on successful players.
