Novig has officially ventured into the realm of prediction markets, unveiling its sports-centric platform across the nation on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) granted Novig its Designated Contract Market (DCM) designation on June 16, 2026, indicating that it now operates under federal regulation.
Nationwide Launch Takes Place
“For far too long, sports enthusiasts have faced limited options for engaging with the markets they understand best,” stated Jacob Fortinsky, co-founder and CEO of Novig. “These fans represent some of the most passionate and knowledgeable communities globally, yet they haven’t had access to a platform specifically designed for their trading styles and engagement.”
“We created Novig to change that by establishing a premier venue for sports trading, while setting a new benchmark for what a contemporary sports prediction market should embody.”
As claimed by the company, its innovative model facilitates real-time trading during games, enhances market liquidity, and broadens payment options for its users.
Focus on Sports-Only Trading
In contrast to other peer-to-peer trading platforms, Novig will only feature markets related to sports, steering clear of economic data, political elections, and entertainment topics.
Thanks to the CFTC’s approval, Novig can launch a platform that offers superior odds, avoids traditional vig, and imposes no limits on high-performing bettors, thereby sidestepping the need for state-by-state sportsbook licenses.
An additional distinguishing factor for Novig is its 21+ age policy, making it the sole prediction market with such a restriction.
Increasing Competition
ProphetX, a rival in the sports-focused prediction market arena, received CFTC regulatory approval on June 11 and is now operational. Established sportsbook operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics have also made their foray into prediction markets.
As mentioned earlier, Novig successfully raised $105 million in two funding rounds starting from 2025.
Prior to its national launch on August 4, 2026, Novig formed a partnership with the New York Mets on July 30, 2026, becoming the Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner of the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise.
On Novig’s platform this morning (August 6, 2026), for the upcoming Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, the Carolina Panthers hold a 52.5% probability of winning, while the Arizona Cardinals are at 48.0%, indicating the market’s belief that the Panthers have about a 52.5% chance of clinching victory. Market volume at 9 a.m. EST was $71,837.52.
