New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso is the favorite according to betting odds at +320 to win the 2023 MLB Home Run Derby. Alonso, who has already won the contest in 2019 and 2021, is seeking his third crown. He will be competing in the popular Home Run Derby tonight, held during the All-Star Game festivities at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Similarly, the current home run leaders in each league, Shohei Ohtani and Matt Olson, will also not be making an appearance in the derby.
The first-round matchups for this year’s Home Run Derby are determined by the current home run totals as of July 4. In the #1 vs. #8 matchup, Luis Robert Jr. is the top seed and the favorite at -230 odds to win against Adley Rutschman.
In the #2 vs. #7 matchup, fans are eagerly anticipating the rematch between Pete Alonso and Julio Rodriguez. Alonso, a two-time champion, is the favorite to win the Home Run Derby overall at +320 odds. Rodriguez, the runner-up from last year, is fourth on the board at +450 odds.
The #3 vs. #6 matchup features Mookie Betts against Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Guerrero, the second overall favorite, is considered the favorite at -205 odds to win in this round despite Betts hitting more home runs this season.
In the #4 vs. #5 matchup, fellow Cuban players Adolis Garcia and Randy Arozarena will square off. Garcia is the favorite at -145 odds to win this round, while Arozarena is the underdog at +120 odds.
