Poker “bad boy” Shawn Sheikhan convicted for illegal cannabis business.

Shawn Sheikhan’s legal battle follows his 2005 World Series of Poker feud with Mike “The Mouth” Matusow.

The 54-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of running illegal marijuana dispensaries, facing a 40-year maximum sentence and $5 million fine. Sentencing might vary after a plea deal.

Clemency Plea

Sheikhan’s defense lawyers requested probation. Poker TV producer Mori Eskandani acknowledged his remorse, contradicting his poor poker etiquettes, known personally by Matusow.

“These guys are like oil and water,” noted commentator Lon McHearn at the 2005 Series.
