Sky River Casino progresses in building 300-room hotel expansion

Sky River Casino has achieved key construction milestones in its new resort hotel project located in Elk Grove, California. The development has progressed from initial site preparations to vertical construction phases.

The foundation pour for the hotel’s West Tower was completed on June 24, following extensive excavation, grading, and the placement of reinforcing steel and formwork. Approximately 1,500 cubic yards of concrete were utilized to form the tower’s base.

On June 25, construction commenced on the superstructure of the West Tower. This phase includes the erection of columns and beams, alongside the installation of floor slabs and additional levels as the structure ascends.

The foundation pour for the East Tower was successfully finished on July 6, facilitating construction efforts across both towers.

These two towers are integral components of Sky River Casino’s extensive expansion initiative, which features a 300-room hotel designed to enhance the current gaming, dining, and entertainment offerings.

Upon completion, the hotel is projected to be the largest accommodation in Elk Grove. The expansion will also comprise a resort-style outdoor pool, a full-service spa and salon, in addition to a versatile event and entertainment venue.

This development further includes upgraded high-limit gaming and exclusive VIP areas.

“Joining the team at this pivotal construction stage is both an honor and a rare opportunity to influence the future of this resort,” stated Holland Tudor, Vice President of Hospitality at Sky River Casino.

“This allows us to refine the guest experience, as well as the teams that will bring this vision to life on a daily basis. We will continue to provide updates on our construction progress as our vision unfolds,” he added.

Additionally, the foundations for the resort’s low-rise buildings have begun, designed to host a variety of guest-focused and operational facilities.

The company reports that visitors to Elk Grove typically spend an average of 2.4 days in the area, with around 80% opting for overnight stays. Sky River Casino anticipates that the hotel project will boost the city’s accommodation inventory by over 40%.

Construction efforts are expected to persist over the next several months as the project progresses toward completion.
