Suspect in Tupac Murder Case Given $750K Bail, Allowed to Serve House Arrest

A Clark County judge set bail Tuesday at $750K for Duane “Keffe D” Davis, despite the former LA gang leader’s continued allegations of Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder in Las Vegas. Davis, 60, potentially faces house arrest ahead of his anticipated June trial, given the verdict.

Davis’ court-appointed lawyers have shared intentions of being able to solicit the bail amount, arguing that a sum of $100K would be more appropriate for the case.

Davis faced arrest on Sept. 29, 2023, following a grand jury’s murder indictment, leading him to remain in custody at the Clark County Detention Center since.

Who’s Really in Danger?

Prosecutors submitted filings on Dec. 28, striving to waive Davis’ bail, alleging that he might have ordered or approved the murder of a case witness while under custody.

On an Oct. 9 call, Davis discussed suspicions of a “green light” to execute plans, which resulted in government-led protections for at least one witness to avoid danger.

In contrast, Davis’ attorneys cited their client’s poor health and history of self-incriminating statements as reasons for endangerment. They argued that Davis’ circumstances would not lead him to evade court proceedings.
