Expansion in Las Vegas adds 49 rooms to Circa Hotel & Casino

Circa Hotel & Casino increases its capacity with 49 new rooms as part of the expansion plan for the downtown Las Vegas property.

The new rooms are located on the 49th and 50th floors and are set to open on September 1, nearly six years after Circa’s launch with seven hotel floors earmarked for future development, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“We needed more rooms down here. That’s the reality,” said Circa co-owner and CEO Derek Stevens to the Review-Journal.

The expansion is part of Circa’s original phased development plan. Initially opened in 2020 with seven hotel floors reserved for future development, the resort later added four floors of standard rooms.

“We had a multi-phase plan,” Stevens explained. “This was always part of the plan.” The company waited to assess the most in-demand room types before completing additional floors.

The new floors feature upgraded finishes and amenities, including new furnishings in the standard king rooms, high-end lighting fixtures, and wall paneling. Circa refers to these new floors as its “platinum floors,” offering upgraded standard king rooms, studio suites, and one-bedroom suites with the option to connect to a second room.

The expansion also introduces the Founders Entourage Suite, featuring two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a half-bath, a large living room, wet bar, and multiple televisions. The suites also include Murphy beds and can accommodate up to 10 people.

The expansion comes at a time when Las Vegas is grappling with ongoing discussions about visitor numbers, hotel prices, and evolving tourist expectations. However, Stevens remains confident in the demand for additional rooms at Circa. “We’re fully booked every weekend, and we’ve been fully booked every weekend for the past three years,” he noted.

The limited room supply has also sparked competition among Circa’s casino hosts, Stevens noted.

The new rooms are set to open ahead of the football season, a critical period for the sports-focused property.

Stevens added that Las Vegas is transforming into a destination driven by sports, concerts, conventions, and other experiences, rather than just low-cost accommodations and dining. He emphasized that Circa’s new rooms are designed to meet the evolving needs of Las Vegas visitors.

The addition marks another step in Circa’s gradual expansion since its opening in 2020. The hotel tower now has one unfinished floor, with the 15th floor currently used for overflow during major events or as an indoor event space.

The casino stated that there are no immediate plans to develop the remaining unfinished floor.
